Welcome to the new addition of the ever popular Back Garden Moths website. It seems a long time since the website was started back in 2002 as what was at the time, supposed to be a small project to past the cold winter nights when not many moths were on the wing. Although back then it was very crude and rough around the edges due to my lack of knowledge in designing websites, I was surprised at the instant appeal to some users, especially those with little knowledge of moth recording. This was a place where any novice could visit without concern of being critisised when after answers to simple questions.During the past eight years the site has gone through a number of changes. Some changes lasted a fairly long time but others were quickly changed to move the site forward, which I guess was all part of the learning process. Ultimately, I've been striving to make the site how it looks and feels today. I think we've come along way in that time and built a reputation for being one of the best and friendliest online communities for this subject currently available on the web. I know there other more higher regarded websites on the subject out there, but I'm proud of what's been achieved over the past years and I think we have done a lot to raise the awareness of moths around the UK and further afield, which was always the slogan for the site from the very beginning. ...
