Humming bird moth |

I can only discribe this strange moth as a humming bird, it acted exactly like one, only was clearly an insect. The only reference I can find for this strange creature is a hummingbird clear wing moth,(I watched a vid on youtube and it was that), and only seen in the States and Canada. Am I going crazy or can someone please help clear up this mystery?? Did I see this or something very similar? |

Saw at least four Silver Ys last night in the garden feeding on rockery flowers (sorry don't know what kind they are). Also a possible Peppered Moth was flying around but didn't get a good enough sight of it so will leave as unidentified. |

These moths were in my trap last evening: 1 Brimstone, 3 Bud Moth, 3 Heart and Dart, 1 Flame, 1 Small China Mark (male), 1 Magpie Moth, 1 Pale Oak Beauty (this was darker than most illustrations I'd seen though I understand they can vary). Also, a V Pug landed on my jacket! |
